Artists in a dialogue with the Benaki Museum Adam Chodzko. You’ll see; this time it’ll be different

This exhibition is taking place within the framework of the programme Artists in a dialogue with the Benaki Museum, a collaboration with the British Council, in order for four artists from Greece, Cyprus and the United Kingdom, active in their country’s art scene as well as on the international stage to meet. The artists are called upon to create original works in a dialogue with the Benaki Museum, proposing a different perspective, both of the collections and of the exhibition space.

Within this framework, Adam Chodzko, a major contemporary British artist, is visiting Athens in order to present a new work, specially commissioned for the Benaki Museum. Adam Chodzko was born in London in 1965. His work examines systems of collective imaginations, stressing their fundamentally random, subjective and irrational nature. He utilizes a broad spectrum of media for his creations, ranging from painting and sculpture to performance art and film, drawing elements from the environment in which he finds himself, often involving in this interaction the viewer him- or her- self.
